Applied AI Engineer

LOCATION - Remote, US EXPERIENCE - 3-6 years COMPENSATION - $130,000 - $170,000

About the role

As an Applied AI Engineer, you will design, build, and continuously improve the AI systems that power Jurisphere's legal platform.

What you'll do

  • Build AI-powered legal workflows

    Implement workflows for contract review, research, and analysis with prompt architectures that produce structured, accurate outputs.

  • Own evaluation and quality

    Develop benchmark frameworks, identify failure modes, and build feedback loops to improve output quality over time.

  • Ship and maintain in production

    Partner with engineering and legal teams to deploy AI features reliably and run structured improvement cycles.

Minimum qualifications

  • 3-6 years in applied AI, ML engineering, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience with modern LLM APIs.
  • Strong Python proficiency and production AI systems experience.
  • Experience designing evaluation frameworks and structured experiments.
  • Authorised to work in the US.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with fine-tuning, RLHF, or model feedback loops.
  • Background in NLP, retrieval, or document understanding.
  • Familiarity with legal workflows or regulated-industry AI applications.
